The Board adopted a resolution honoring Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Todd Bishop upon his retirement with 27 years of dedicated service to the County of Kern.
Item No. 2 AM session:
The Board adopted a resolution honoring Mark Riehle, Sheriff’s Office, upon his retirement with 33 years of dedicated service to the County of Kern.

The Board proclaimed June 2025 as Family Reunification Month in Kern County.
Item No. 9 AM session:
The Board approved a request to accept grant from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) for the 2025 Cooling Center Program, in the amount of $20,000.
Item No. 24 AM session:
The Board approved a proposed agreement with California State University, Bakersfield for designation of Assembly Bill 1326 County Liaison for Higher Education to serve as a point of contact for students in need of County services, from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027.
Item No. 27 AM session:
The Board approved a proposed agreement with Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) to provide youth mentoring services from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $102,384.
Item No. 4 PM session:
The Board approved a proposed agreement with the City of Ridgecrest to provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the City of Ridgecrest - Leroy Jackson Park Sports Complex Softball Shade Improvements - Project No. 17.23.1.
Item No. 17 PM session:
The Board approved a proposed agreement with The Open Door Network to support the construction of a new shelter from June 3, 2025 through November 30, 2026, in the amount of $1,000,000.
Item No. 18 PM session:
The Board approved a proposed contribution to Mothers Against Gang Violence in the amount of $3,000 to support programs and services; and request to rescind contribution to Mothers Against Drunk Driving approved May 20, 2025.
Item No. 19 PM session:
The Board approved contributions to Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation in the amount of $1,500, to support programs and services; St. Peter Restoration Community Christian Ministries in the amount of $500, to support summer program; and Kern County Farm Bureau in the amount of $400, to support agriculture education efforts.
Item No. 20 PM session:
The Board approved a proposed contribution to Kern County Farm Bureau in the amount of $2,000, to support agriculture education efforts.
Item No. 21 PM session:
The Board approved proposed contributions to Delano Stallion’s Football Inc., in the amount of $250, to support the purchase of equipment; Shafter Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $500, to support Cinco de Mayo Celebration; and Soroptimist International of Delano in the amount of $500, to support scholarships.
Item No. 22 PM session:
The Board approved a proposed contribution to Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $1,200, to support the Leadership Bakersfield program.
